What is a Microduct Connector?
A microduct connector is a specialized mechanical fitting used to join two segments of microduct tubes together. Its primary purpose is to create a secure, airtight, and watertight seal without reducing the inner diameter of the duct. This seamless internal transition is critical because fiber cables are typically “blown” or jetted through the ducts using compressed air. Any internal ridge or gap could catch the cable and halt the installation process.
